GENERAL UTILITIES / BRIDGE WORK INSPECTOR

ProDims has an immediate opening for a general utility/bridge work inspector.  Candidate will perform on-site construction inspection services in support of engineering design and construction programs related to civil and structural facilities, bridge work, utilities, rebar, and roadways.   Experience on Facilities Construction projects and familiar with working with multi-trade contractors. Candidate will perform field construction inspection and documentation services on transit and bridge work projects including but not limited to roadway widening, excavation and installation of underground infrastructure and utilities, tunnels retaining walls, and new sidewalks.  Candidate will be responsible for following site safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for the project.  Other duties may include providing safety meeting outlines, pre-task check lists prior to executing work and report any safety issues or concerns to management.

Candidate must be familiar with the Washington DOT rules and regulations, as well as pertinent federal, state, local laws, codes, and regulations as they apply to transit operations.

Job Requirements:

·         A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field along with 7-10 years’ experience with multi-trade contractor and general utility and structures inspection   

·         Proficient with construction and inspection practices, procedures, and techniques, including utility installation

·         Attend design review and job kick off meetings

·      Review new QA Job Folder and prepare Tool Inspection Report

·      Review and approve contractor and/or sub-contractor inspection and traceability documentation to ensure their planned activities meet contractual requirements.

·      Certifications in construction inspection on public projects, preferably on Washington State DOT agency projects

·         ACI certification in one or more of the following areas:

                               Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I

                               Concrete Strength Testing Technician

·         NICET Level II certification in Construction Materials Testing in one or more of the following categories: Asphalt, Concrete, Soils·        TCI Certification Level II Transportation Construction

SENIOR COST ESTIMATOR

ProDims has an immediate opening for a local qualified degreed Senior/Cost Estimator with experience estimating federal, and military, transportation, transit, airport, tunnel, municipal, and educational projects.  Candidates will be working under limited direction, performing professional level technical expertise in preparing total construction cost estimates at different stages of project design, from preliminary through final design document development.  Qualified candidate will be responsible for ensuring the full integration of scope, schedule, costs, risk, and resources; establishing budgets and engineer estimates for construction of large-scale projects; performing cost impact analysis related to the project/contract potential and/or directing change orders for comparison with cost trending analysis.  They will be expected to meet all required deadlines for the project, and will be responsible for client maintenance.   Additionally, candidate may be asked to be on value engineering studies as a team member and assist with developing cost information for VE alternatives.

Candidate will also be asked to track and recommend pricing thresholds to the project team and senior management; maintain a cost database based on historical and current market prices; monitor construction management (CM) and construction contractor progress and cost changes to ensure projects adhere to project control policies and procedures and are completed on time and within budget; and develop project risk assessment. 

Other duties will be to manage all work loads and all USACE review comments with all A/E’s; conduct construction risk analysis and risk mitigation, and cost contingencies analysis; develop and implement standards for the preparation of cost estimates for change order/contract amendment negotiations.  Additionally, candidate will interact and share knowledge and negotiate across organizational boundaries with other Agency departments and local, state and federal agencies/jurisdictions and with business partners such as local transit agencies.

Job Requirements:

·      Certifications: CCP, CEP, ASPE, Nationally Accredited certification is a requirement to be obtained within in one year

·     Develop cost estimates for various alternatives;

·     Perform detailed review of 3rd party construction cost estimates during various stages of design, including 15%, 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% and Engineer’s estimate for bidding;

·     Perform analysis of bid results and update of estimating factors for future bids;

·     Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data in order to maintain current estimating standards and databases.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

·        BS in engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience

·     7-10 years experience estimating heavy civil projects

·     Certifications: ASPE, CPE, LEED Accreditation programming certs are a plus but not a requirement

·     Estimating service tunnel structures, parking garages, loading dock structures, utilities and storage tank experience a plus

SAFETY and SECURITY REPRESENTATIVE

ProDims is accepting resumes for Safety and Security Representatives. Candidates will work with management team to maintain adequate safety coverage. We will have one safety representative to monitor contractor work on each of the three shifts of the project. The candidates must be certified safety professionals who have an OSHA 500 Construction Safety Training Certificate and have worked as a site safety professional for at least 8-years. The safety professional(s) must have worked as a site safety professional in tunnel construction for at least five years. All safety representative must have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-years of experience in construction safety programs

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA/WISA regulations and their applications in the field

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assume management responsibility for the services and activities of the Construction Safety Group including overseeing OSHA jobsite compliance inspections, safety training, monitoring of safety program documentation, hazard analysis, and threat and vulnerability assessment.

  • Prepare safety reports including reports for management on safety related issues.

Eight (8) years of on-site safety management experience. Five (5) years experience as site safety professional in tunnel construction.

 Required Licenses or Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid Washington State Driver License.

  • Possession of Certification in System Safety Management, OSHA 500 Construction Safety (40-hour), Industrial Hygiene, or other relevant Safety Professional Certification with emphasis on construction safety or workplace safety or demonstrate equivalent competence.

SENIOR SCHEDULER

ProDims is currently accepting resumes of qualified Senior Schedulers with experience developing, creating, managing, and reporting on schedules for our Phoenix, Arizona office.  Candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed CPM project schedules for infrastructure/transportation (utilities, roads, highways, and bridge) and public works projects.  Additional duties will include developing performance standards and trends to support master project schedule, and provide cost and time impact analysis as well as develop mitigation strategies.  The candidate will also work closely with project/construction managers and other staff in stand-alone or integrated team environments.  Candidate must have a minimum of 7-years of CPM Scheduling experience using P6 or a higher version software.  Candidate must have proven ability to analyze, report, monitor, and track complex schedules and delay claims.  Demonstrated experience in cost loading, time impact, critical path, trending and earned value a must and working on transportation projects.

Candidate will be responsible for developing and accurately maintaining integrated master/sub-project schedules, ensuring schedule logic is maintained, coordinating work activities with project team members, progressing schedules and assisting in identifying and resolving schedule conflicts.

Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to produce concise, legible, accurate monthly schedule information.  Additionally, candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to work with this complex team of owner, engineers, and contractors project.
